Located on the bank of Chindwin River, and a three hour drive from Mandalay, Monywa is regarded as a typical unspoiled Myanmar town.
Well known for its numerous caves carved from stone and numerous Buddha images, as well as its beautiful scenery of palm trees. Monywa is also one of the busiest towns in Myanmar for commerce and import and export, especially from India.
